The hospitality sector expanding in South Africa

Nov 27, 2013 565 view(s)

The hospitality sector is booming out and breaking records inspite of declination which was experienced between 2009-2011. The national average RevPAR i.e. revenue per available room were recorded with annual increase of 10.5% in 2012. And the same trend continued in 2013, and at the end of August 2013 it resulted in an impressive 13.4% increase compared to the same period last year.

Looking at the last year sales of the Westcliff Hotel, it has always remained as a motivator for many transactions that we are closing currently. But its overall  increasing performance no doubt increases its  values.

Also Pam Golding Lodges and Guesthouses (PGLAG) has been found with a significant increase in queries and strong demands from South Africa, Holland, Germany and the UK. Increased activity are also seen from China where we have recently recorded our first transaction.

PGLAG is been recorded with the total sales nearly around R100 million and is at the top position in the market in the sale of guesthouses and hotels.

The outstanding reputation which Pam Golding Tourism and Hospitality Consulting (PGTHC) has established in South Africa as an important firm in hotel industry, is greatly helping it to further expand in rest of Sub-Saharan Africa and beyond it. It has provided the best services in the past 12 months to the Government of St Helena Island, Zimbabwe, Angola, Cameroon, Botswana and Nigeria.

PGTHC has been appointed by the IDC (Industrial Development Corporation) on a substantial national project. We are also looking forward to increase our presence in Sub-Saharan Africa. Our core base in South Africa is providing acknowledgement to PGTHC as one of the premium advisors in the hotel sector.
